  11. I am trying to build Emacs 18.59 in a directory other than the source
  12. directory.  I have achieved this, mostly, through liberal sprinkling of
  13. $(srcdir)'s throughout the makefiles.  I kludged make-doc to accept a
  14. prefix as one of its arguments so that it would find the source files (it
  15. really SHOULD scan the .o files to find the .c file's path, probably,
  16. but...)

  18. But I'm having trouble getting temacs to look in the right directory.  I
  19. already have 18.58 installed, and temacs just happily loads the elisp from
  20. that installation, rather than from the source tree.  How can I point it in
  21. the right direction?
