- Ange-FTP allows transparent file access to remote files via ftp.
- ange-ftp is available from
- "/alpha.gnu.ai.mit.edu:/ange-ftp/"
-
-
- Ange-ftp works best when used with tree-dired. Tree-dired is
- the dired of emacs-19. Some the following advantages over
- dired are:
-
- * can dired several directories in one buffer
- * marking of a whole set of files for later commands
- * integrated with ange-ftp - you can run Dired on remote FTP
- directories
-
- Tree Dired is available via anonymous ftp from
- ftp.thp.Uni-Koeln.DE[134.95.64.1]:/pub/gnu/emacs/diredall.tar.Z
-
- These are two of the most useful elisp packages in existence.
- I recommend them both highly.
