- I am managing a Xenix (SCO Sys V/386 V2.3.4) system with Novell's "LAN
- Workplace for Xenix 386" (Ver 3.7) and am unable to get smtp mailing to
- work without core dump's and such like. I can, however recieve mail
- without any problems.
-
- I previously had Xenix V2.2.2 with the LAN software (V3.3) when Excelan
- owned it, and did not experience any problems.
-
- My problem is further complicated in that my purchasing dept use such a
- convoluted route to buy software from 'approved suppliers' that I cannot
- persuade anybody that they should be helping me with this problem ("No,
- you really want to be complaning to XXX [where XXX is anyone but me!]").
- I was however, told by a UK distributor that Novell had acknowledged the
- problem and were working on a fix. That, however, was back in the spring,
- and I have since lost that one helpful contact !
-
- Has anyone else out there experienced similar problems, and/or know the
- current status of a bug fix ?? If there is one I can then have a
- concerted go at extracting said fix.
-
- I am basically sick of trying to find anything out from so-called
- "support departments", who seem far more adept at passing the buck !!
