-
- It is a 80286 with a 80 Meg Hard Drive.
- At least that is what the Model Name says.
-
- We've got a bunch of those dang things here.
-
- There is a Microsoft Xenix Development system
- on some of ours.
-
- We have Old Informix on them. Even the old
- Informix (Informer, etc.) was a tight fit.
-
- I'm suprised the SQL made it to that platform.
-
- My guess is that recent versions of SQL are
- way too piggish on memory and disk space to
- be viable.

-
- Like I said, we've got a C compiler from microsoft for it (circa 1984).
-
- I wonder if Altos (Acer) even cares if I were to send you a copy of ours.
-
- [Of course I couldn't do it unless I found out ]

-
- Unless you have some nice niche for the machines in your plans, my advice
- is to throw it out as soon as possible. It is just too ancient.
-
- It is almost perfectly software compatible with the tower-shaped
- Altos 2086 (80286). The compiled executables work fine on either
- platform (some differences in the kernel and other minor files -
- they relate to the different hardware supported).

- You might find that the government is surplusing many of these old Altos
- systems. If you really like them, you can probably pick up some cheap!
