- a blazing box costs nothing compared to the thousands of man-years and tons of
- money required to develop a new OS. Harware folks found they could dial-up
- their nearest
- bulletin board and download an OS for essentially zero cost. And, gee, there
- was a
- tiny amount of compatability since others were doing the same! It's all
- history now ...
- U*x is here for awhile, but it's old, inconsistent and has terrible
- 'interfaces'.
