- But there is one major difference to Unix (assuming VM/CMS works the
- same as VMS in this respect): You made the abbreviations yourself (up
- to a point) so you get something *you* can remember. So *you* can
- choose to type FORTRAN, FORTR, FORT or FOR depending on your mood today
- and don't have to memorize some meaningless character combination (can
- you pronounce - not spell - cp?).
