  23. Ok.. here's the scenario.   I'm attempting to create a Computer Aided Control System
  24. Design environment.  It is essentially a collection of tools like Matlab, MatrixX,
  25. Maple, etc.  During evolution of a project, the control engineer will create hundreds, 
  26. if not thousands of files. We want to use a relational (or object oriented) database
  27. that will keep track of this development.

  29. We don't need a heavy duty beast (hence I was fairly vague earlier), but something
  30. that will link certain fields together.  Free would be best, but the only thing I
  31. found was Postgres... my system administrator is very reluctant to install this, even
  32. for testing purposes.  So I guess I'll need something smaller.
