  12. I'm having heaps of fun trying to setup a DECLaser 3200 printer on a 
  13. 5000/240 and are getting nowhere fast.

  15. - The laser is plugged into tty00 (comms port 2 on the back of the 240 unit) via
  16. serial cable.(straigth thru)
  17. - tty00 has logins turned off in /etc/ttys.
  18. - I ran the 'lprsetup' script (after RTFM). I chose the printer type as ln03 
  19. (The box it came in had ln08 on the side of it, but ln08 is not known to the 
  20. script)   
  21. - The laser is set to factory defaults(One would assume it would work with 
  22. another dec product on factory defaults)protocal is DEC.
  23. - tried good old 'lp -dln08 /etc/motd'
  24. - and nothing happens

  26. I got hold of a RS232 tester to see if a cross over was needed but everything 
  27. seemed ok.

  29. When I enable tty00 for logins it works ok.

  31. I suspect that I have to setup the parity, flow control on tty00 for 
  32. the printer. (YES/NO ?) If so where? .

  34. Any help would be appreciated.(eg: printcap entries that are known to work,
  35. where to look in the manual)
