- I'm having problems combining licenses for NSR under Ultrix 4.3. I've
- parked in front of this with bookreader for a couple of hours now, and I
- still don't seem to have it configured.
-
- Decstation 5000/240, Ultrix 4.3, NSR 1.0
-
-
- Here's the scene.
-
- I just received 10 NSR PAKs.
-
- According to the documentation on BOOKREADER for combining multiple licenses,
- I use lmf register to register each pak. Then use lmf load to register them.
-
- So I registered 2 of the pak's.
-
- Here's the output from a lmf list:
- # lmf list
- Product Status Users: Total Active
-
- DECNSR-NET-CLNT enabled
- DECNSR-NET-CLNT enabled, multiple
- DECNSR-NET-SVR active unlimited
-
-
- Then, it says to combine the licenses, use the lmf load command. And it
- gives an example for loading multiple licenses. Specifically, it says:
-
- For example, if you have registered two licenses for the product ALLSUM,
- you can form a single license in the kernel cache by typing:
-
- # lmf load 0 ALLSUM.
-
- So I do a
-
- # lmf load 0 decnsr-net-clnt
-
- And I get:
- Combine DECNSR-NET-CLNT AL3-WM-92316-732 with DECNSR-NET-CLNT AL3-WM-92316-733
-
- Which is what the hell I was trying to do in the first place. So now an
- LMF list shows:
-
- # lmf list
- Product Status Users: Total Active
-
- DECNSR-NET-CLNT active 2 0
- DECNSR-NET-CLNT active, multiple 2 0
- DECNSR-NET-SVR active unlimited
-
-
- I think that the license is registered correctly (from the 2 in the total
- column), but everytime I do a LMF reset, I get the
- 'Combine...' message printed above.
-
- So how the hell do I stop it?
-
- If I register 5 licenses, then fire up nsrd, I get:
-
- nsrd: RAP error, Too many clients, exceeded DECNSR-NET-CLNT license (35003)
- nsrd: RAP error, Too many clients, exceeded DECNSR-NET-CLNT license (35003)
-
-
- What am I doing wrong here? Am I supposed to mod the units on the NET-SVR
- license to match the number?
