- We've just picked up a copy of Dell 2.2 and have run into a problem.
-
- I'm trying to add a line to /etc/inittab to run a script that starts
- up database servers & such. It's never run. Here's how it looks:
-
- rclocal:23:wait:/usr/local/rc.local > /dev/sysmsg 2>&1 < /dev/console
-
-
- The script itself is fine, has been used for years now. For some
- reason this entry is never executed when the system is bought up.
-
- Dell tech support doesn't have a clue. They say it should run, don't
- know why it doesn't. No, init isn't broke. They don't think this
- is a problem.
-
- I can work around it by putting a line in rc2 but that's not the way I
- want to do it. I have other systems in the field and I want things to
- be setup in the same manner. I don't want to have to remember the
- differences between this system and that.
-
- Thanks in advance.
