- It is also possible to run the Netware shell and ethernet
- drivers from within a Merge session. This is what what original
- poster said he wanted to do (although NFS or IPX/SPX may be what he
- really wanted).
-
- In order run Netware drivers under Merge, you will need to
- dedicate an Ethernet card for that use -- if you are using TCP/IP from
- the UNIX side, you'll need two Ethernet cards. The Ethernet card
- being used by Merge should be configured as an ethernet card (e.g.
- "mkdev wdn1" for a Western Digital/SMC card) but not for TCP/IP. The
- I/O and memory addresses of the card must be specified in an entry in
- /etc/dosdev as a direct connect device, e.g.
-
- net d .240-25f.7.ca000-cbfff. Direct attach WD8003E.
-
- and the corresponding device ("net" above) must be configured into the
- Merge session either by adding it when Merge is called (e.g. "dos
- +anet") or by adding the device to the default Merge startup options
- with "dosopt".
