  15.     A friend of mine is planning on replacing the motherboard on
  16. his machine.  His current configuration is:
  17.     386-33 DTK motherboard with DTK Bios, 8MB RAM and 64K cache
  18.     Cyrix 387-33 coprocessor
  19.     Two IDE HDs (Seagate 120MB and Maxtor 210MB)
  20.     Trident 8900C video card with CTX monitor
  21.     Two FDs, ports, etc.

  23.     He has been running AT&T Unix System V Release 4 (Version 2.1)
  24. and OS/2 1.3 and 2.0.  Recently, he has been experiencing problems
  25. when trying to *cold* boot Unix (warm boot goes OK, once the system
  26. starts up).  Testing (replacing cards, etc) seems to indicate that the
  27. motherboard is the culprit.

  29.     He wants to get a new mother board which will run BOTH UNIX
  30. AND OS/2 without any problems.  He has been considering an AMI 386-33
  31. motherboard.  Could netters out there share their experiences with AMI
  32. motherboards?  Are there models to be avoided?  Are there any other
  33. motherboards which are better and are worth considering?
