  24. Well, it WAS written in response to being completely PISSED at the lack of
  25. handling of common requirements by the Unix vendors.  I waited until SVR4's
  26. ttymon came out before doing the code, thinking that USL had finally gotten
  27. the idea and was going to do it right.

  29. Boy, was I disappointed.

  31. Why is it that I always end up writing utilities to do things that any DOS
  32. BBS operator takes for granted (like handling modems correctly)?

  34. What the hell was Unix intended for anyway?  All hard-wired terminals?  I
  35. guess so.  Anyway, enough flaming at the vendors.  I got upset, and solved
  36. the problem.

  43. Good, although these deficiencies should ALSO be able to be handled from a
  44. reasonable "getty" work-alike.

  46. Anyway, glad to hear the current WB ROMs are good -- seeing as I intend to
  47. buy quite a few in the next month or two for ddsw1!  My system is getting
  48. too many busy signals these days.  While the Supras aren't bad, I need some
  49. of those Turbo-PEP models to keep people who feed from me happy.
