  12. Last weekend I tried to install 386bsd on my new IBM Silverdisk 2 (1,2 GB).
  13. I know that my Adaptec 1542b translates the disk geometry for DOS to a
  14. maximum of 64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 1023 cylinders, so that I can not
  15. use my disk under DOS without modifikation of the Controller BIOS but I
  16. thought that it would be no problem to install a Unix on the disk.

  18. The `install' command crashed with a comment of `Wrong disk geometry'
  19. controller error, or something like that.

  21. Is it possible that the SCSI-driver I have on my dist.fs bootdisk works
  22. in translated mode so that he cannot access disks with more than 1GB?

  24. Where can I get either a newer dist.fs (SCSI-driver) or an image to burn
  25. a new Controller BIOS, or is there anything else I did wrong?
