  33. I'm having really big problems installing 386bsd on my machine:
  34.     80486 50
  35.     AMI bios / OPTI chipset
  36.  
  37. I can install binaries and source.
  38. I can install patches.
  39. I can't rebuild the kernel, due to system hanging on symbols rearrange.
  40. I even tried to:
  41.     - config STRIDER
  42.     - shutdown and reboot
  43.     - make depend
  44.     - shutdown and reboot
  45.     - make
  46.     - hang and reboot
  47.     - rm 386bsd orig.386bsd
  48.     - make
  49. to see if hanging was caused by the large amount of memory (16 Mb),
  50. but it still doesn't work !!!!
  51. If I install orig.386bsd in /386bsd the system will not boot anymore
  52. (infinite loop), and note i recompiled the kernel last week and worked
  53. fine. The i reinstalled anything from start, I installed patches on
  54. the new, virgin, system, and things don't work anymore !!!
  55. I doubt it is NOT any hardware failure.
