- I am sure it has all been covered before but I can't seem to find
- ant of it so here are the reasons:
- I just got a Gateway 2000 local bus 486/33V, now I have 8Mb memory
- 2-200 Mb IDE drives, A modem on com1 and a logitech on com2
- it has the ATI graphics ultra plus video on the local bus
- here are the majhor questions:
- 1.) the boot keyboard bug, I know I have to hit the keyboard or it will
- freeze onb bootup. is there a patch?
-
- 2.) which patches cover the two drives? and how do I subsequently setup
- the second drive? I want to setup a swap partition, any suggestions?
- size, placement, good place to mount the filesystem partition.
-
- 3.) I assume the Xserver I want is Amancio Hasty's XBSD8514 (Kudo's!!)
- how do I make it work? does it need some settings in the Xconfig file?
- it is the Crystalscan 1024ni monitor I am using.
-
- 4.) how do I amke TIP work with the com port?
-
- 5.) I am about to run through Terry's patch kit. any patches I should
- avoid?
-
- 6.) any other suggestions from people with experience on this machine?
-
- Thanks in advance
