  13. I have ported to 386bsd an 8514/a server. I don't have an 8514/a
  14. but owners of ATI Ultra running under 386bsd have had no problems
  15. with the server. The server has been clocked at 60k stones.

  17. Due to ATI's policy of non-disclosure agreement, we have not
  18. used their extended set of registers which perhaps would allows
  19. to achieve higher speeds.

  24. The reason that the server works is because I have an S3 server
  25. which used to be nearly identical to the ibm8514/a. The reason
  26. is different today is because we have added hardware cursor support
  27. and we use vga banking to do bulk image transfer to the S3 card.
  28. The S3 server works and passess all x11perf tests. Both
  29. the binaries and the sources are in the same ftp site.
