- I have ported to 386bsd an 8514/a server. I don't have an 8514/a
- but owners of ATI Ultra running under 386bsd have had no problems
- with the server. The server has been clocked at 60k stones.
-
- Due to ATI's policy of non-disclosure agreement, we have not
- used their extended set of registers which perhaps would allows
- to achieve higher speeds.
-
- The server sources and the binary is at:
- sunvis.rtpnc.epa.gov:/pub/386bsd/incoming/XBSD8514
-
- The reason that the server works is because I have an S3 server
- which used to be nearly identical to the ibm8514/a. The reason
- is different today is because we have added hardware cursor support
- and we use vga banking to do bulk image transfer to the S3 card.
- The S3 server works and passess all x11perf tests. Both
- the binaries and the sources are in the same ftp site.
-
- Enjoy,
