- The new server has many speed improvements, hardware cursor
- support, passes all x11perf tests without crashing, a color
- boder bug fix(the bug shows up when using xv).
-
- Some of the graphic operations are upto 10 times faster.
-
- A README file, binary, and patches are available at
- sunvis.rtpnc.epa.gov:/pub/386bsd/incoming.
-
- We are finding out that some S3 based cards are faster than
- others. For instance, the new Orchid Farenheit 1280 clocks in
- under Linux at 48k xstones, whereas an older model Actix card
- clocked in at 36k xstones. If you use XS3, please run xbench
- and send me your hardware configuration.
-
- We are now twice as fast as a sun workstation IPC without a GX.
-
-
- Enjoy,
- Amancio Hasty
