  10. The following mail aliases have been created on ref.tfs.com
  11. and mail has (hopefully) been fixed in the tfs.com domain
  12. so that they work:

  45. at the moment addition to these groups is manual.
  46. send mail to the group and hopefully someone will add you,
  47. or alternatively, add yourself to the indicated file
  48. (make sure it etains 666 permissions)
  49.
  50. new groups may be added by any user of ref (including guest)
  51. so I hope people will do so.
  52.
  53. if you cannot get yourself added to a group and you wish to
  54. participate in development realted to that group, send me mail at
  55. julian@ref.tfs.com and I will add you.
  56.
  57. Bill jolitz has told me that the following work needs to be done:
  58.
  59. 1/ he needs some people to validate the gcc2.3.1 suite by
  60. compiling the entire 386bsd distribution and  noting what changes need
  61. to be made: (does gdb work?)
  62.
  63. (386bsd_gcc is probably the place to go to do this) I will try add another disk
  64. to ref specifically for this large task.
  65.
  66. 2/ he would like some people familiar with shared libraries, to get together
  67. and he will work with them (he is busy) towards implimenting shared
  68. libraries.
  69.
  70. Join 386bsd_sharedlibs for this.
  71.
  72. 3/ the new linux math package might be looked at by someone
  73. and maybe ported (if the author agrees)
  74.
  75. volunteers?
  76.
  77. ----------------------------------
  78. not to nag too much, but,
  79. the following people still don't have .forwards on ref.
  80. I may delete these directories if no-one comes forward to claim them..
  81. (these are ID's I created to match directories made in /usr/home)

  127. --------------------------------------
  128. Some people have suggested I place an IRC on ref rather than the planned
  129. (probably COOL) MUD. I am open to suggestions but a MUD may
  130. give more flexibility in terms
  131. of specialised 'meeting' facilities such as the ability
  132. to 'table' code fragments for discussion and such, also
  133. a mud needs only that the users have a telnet rather than a special client.
  134. (though one helps) This is still open.
  135.
  136. ---------------------------------------
  137. ref has a MTBF of about 36 hours at the moment
  138. (probably the heaviest used 386bsd machine around)
  139. so I will be booting it each 24 hours (preemptively)
  140. probably around 17:00 GMT (9AM PST?)
  141. until we find the memory leaks etc.
  142.
  143. Things I want to see include a good MAN system that can handle
  144. normal MAN docs not the CAT docs presently on 386bsd.
