  15. I recently installed a copy XFree86 on my newly installed 386BSD. I am
  16. experiencing many problems. Hope experts out there would help me out.
  17.  
  18. Hardware:
  19.    40 MHz 386DX
  20.    AMI BOIS 7/7/91
  21.    No math coprocessor
  22.    8 meg ram
  23.    200 meg and 40 meg IDE drives
  24.    Fahrenheit 1280 vedio card
  25.    Mousesystems serial mouse (com1)
  26.  
  27. OS:
  28.    386BSD binary distribution from agate.berkeley.edu
  29.    No source distribution, no etc dirstribution
  30.    Updated kernel for XFree86
  31.    XFree86 bininary distribution from the same ftp host
  32.    X server is set to X386mono (trying to start generic VGA mode)
  33.  
  34. Problems:
  35.    Printer driver missing (/dev/lp)
  36.    C compiler does not work with floating point numbers
  37.        -- all numbers are rounded off to intgers
  38.    Mtools does not work,
  39.        message-- init: open: No such a file or dirctory
  40.    X server will not start,
  41.        message-- Fatal I/O error 32. Broken pipe on X server...
