- A week ago, I ran into problems installing 386BSD on an EISA machine
- with an Ultrastor Ultra 24F SCSI host adaptor. I gave it another try
- today, and here's what I've got:
-
- I set up the host adaptor so that the wd driver likes it. I can mount
- the 386BSD partition, write to it, and read from it. But I can't boot
- from the hard drive.
-
- I have tried the standard dist.fs and the cgd (?) one, and neither
- seem to do the trick. I suspect it is the boot block, because the
- machine gets stuck in an infinite reboot loop without displaying anything
- on the screen.
-
- I've looked in several places, but I haven't seen any other boot blocks.
- Booting from floppy works fine and I will even settle for that if there
- is a way to mount the hard drive as the root file system. (I used to do
- that with Linux, so there must be a way.) Any help would be appreciated.
-
- I also have a general 386BSD question. Could someone post a list of
- every "option" that we can use with our config files? I believe I have
- most of them, but I would like all.
-
- I received mail from several people trying to get 386BSD running on this
- same type of system. To them: I haven't forgotten about you. I have your
- addresses and will let you know when I get it running.
