  13. This is an urgent plea for some help!

  15. At the moment I cannot fully shutdown this system.  I issue the
  16. command "shutdown -y -g5 -i0" and the system goes through its 
  17. normal process until the "The system is down" message appears.
  18. After this the system just sits there and ever so often the hard
  19. drive does something.  Whenever I reboot the system I have to
  20. go through the painful wait of a filesystem validation.  I've
  21. look at the system but can't find anything out of place.  Can
  22. any suggest something?  Furthermore has anyone else had the same
  23. sort of problem?
