-
- According to my CE, blowing away the NVRAM is the *last* resort. Too
- many things depend on it, and though it can be a userful tool, make sure
- you have a current backup before you pull the battery!
-
- I recently tried to add an external (670M) drive. Picked an unused address,
- (with system off) plugged it in, making sure to terminate the buss, and
- then powered up. Got the alternating 223-229 forever. Turns out that the
- drive had had its interface changed by the OEM packager, thus I was trying
- to attach a differential interface to a SCSI-II buss. No she workee.
-
- Any chance you are suffering similarly? What happens when you view the
- disk thru SMIT STORAGE? How about if you just do an 'lsdev -C|grep disk' ?
- Does aix recognize the disk, or did you have to use the 'other scsi disk'
- to configure it?
-
- Random thoughts...hope one hits home for you.
