- Hello out there,
-
- I'm trying to get slip working, but, well, something seems to be wrong.
- When I configure sl0 via SMIT, all seems to be ok.
-
- When I, however, try to ping or telnet to the destination address, I'm
- told that
- network is not currently reachable
- (Of course, if i leave sl0 undefined, I won't get this message but a
- timeout)
-
- When I do 'ifconfig sl0', all seems to be fine...
-
- Well, maybe i didn't understand the meaning of ADDRESS and DESTINATION
- ADDRESS.
-
- The fact that a route is automatically set up after defining sl0 led me
- to the belief that the destination address needn't be within the
- local network address!?
-
- Is 'slattach' needed after setting up sl0 via SMIT? I thought no, but
- now I'm unsure about nearly everything ;)
-
- Thanks in advance, Henning (hstams@biolan.Uni-Koeln.DE)
