  23. I have the same problem but don't have a solution.  I'd like to hear any
  24. suggestions.  The command I have the problem with is 'history -r | more',
  25. run by a csh alias.  It occurs with about the same frequency, too.  When I 
  26. check my active jobs, I see:

  29.         9493 Background write     more

  31. The problem appears to be with more, but it may be more complicated.
  32. Any ideas out there?
