  13. We have an SGI and an Evans & Sutherland which share an optical
  14. drive. The drive is connected to the SGI.

  16. Currently, the only way to have the users able to mount and
  17. unmount cartridges for access on the Evens & Sutherland is
  18. to give them the root password for both systems. Obviously, this
  19. not a very good situation from a security standpoint. Unfortunately,
  20. the only way to export the optical drive and mount or unmount it
  21. on the E&S is to have root access.

  23. Are there mount, umount, and exportfs programs out there
  24. somewhere that do not require root access? If so, where can I
  25. get copies?
