- We have an SGI and an Evans & Sutherland which share an optical
- drive. The drive is connected to the SGI.
-
- Currently, the only way to have the users able to mount and
- unmount cartridges for access on the Evens & Sutherland is
- to give them the root password for both systems. Obviously, this
- not a very good situation from a security standpoint. Unfortunately,
- the only way to export the optical drive and mount or unmount it
- on the E&S is to have root access.
-
- Are there mount, umount, and exportfs programs out there
- somewhere that do not require root access? If so, where can I
- get copies?
-
- Thanks.
