- Has anyone heard any rumors about an MS-Windows equivalent of the
- Liken product that will run on Sun's? I know there are a couple of
- PC emulators out there, but I was under the impression that these
- products require that all calls to MS windows be run in emulation
- mode (unlike Liken or Quorum which allow a substantial portion of
- the systems calls made from a Macintosh program to run using
- a more direct call to the Sun's system software).
-
- I've heard that Windows NT will not run on Sparcs, so this would seem
- to be a substantial niche for someone. (From what I've seen Bill Gates
- may be acting out of personal motivations rather than business
- considerations or for the good of the industry given the way the ACE
- initiative as seemingly bombed). It really seems like Gates is overly
- insulting towards Sun in the interviews I've seen.
-
-
- Also, does Bristol Technologies have any competitors yet in the
- area of products that allow MS-Windows programs to be recompiled
- on Sun Workstations. They have an interesting product, but the last
- time I checked, it was priced at a rather high level.
-
- Thanks!
