- I would like to be able to recycle the old Sun 3 computers that turn
- up in electronic surplus stores but repair info from Sun is very hrd to
- find. Would some experienced Sun repair person like to write an essay
- on the subject?
- One typical case goes like this. A board for a Sun 3/60 part number
- 501-1334-25825 was found with its boot ROM missing. A ROM from
- an older 3/60 was plugged in but it didn't work. All the leds lit up
- and nothing happened. The ROM was numbered 520-1665-05. Will the ROM's
- from different 3/60 boards work interchangebly? Or does each version
- need its own ROM? What is the part number for the latest and least buggy
- ROM?
- Are there some likely things that go wrong with 3/60 that are
- easy to diagnose and repair?
