- Hello:
-
- I am trying to set up a few accounts on my neXT, but I have been
- experiencing some newbie like problems, which I hope some kind-souled
- person will help me with.
-
- 1. I want to set up an account that runs only one program, then logs the
- user out of the NeXT upon exiting the program. I would like to make it
- impossible to <control><z> the process. I do not want to allow this user to
- be able to suspend or stop the process, relegate it to the background,
- etc.
-
- 2. I tried setting up a gopher-client only account for telnet users or
- dial in users. I set up my services thusly:
-
- gclient 4200/tcp
-
- I then set up my inetd.conf like this:
-
- gclient stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/local/bin/gopher gopher
-
- When I try to telnet to this port this is what happens:
-
- Connected to trans.csuohio.edu.
- Escape character is '^]'.
- I don't understand your terminal type
- Connection closed by foreign host.
-
- Anyone know what is going on here? Can you shed some light on this
- matter? I would like to provide a friendly user-environment without
- running security risks everytime somebody logs on.
-
- thanks for the advice .... I appreciate it!
-
