  12. I read the documentation, and did this in order to print from
  13. one NeXT to another NeXT that has a printer, over ethernet but
  14. not using netinfo:

  16. 1. Added the host name of the computer without the printer to
  17.    /etc/hosts.lpd.
  18. 2. Added a /etc/printcap to the NeXT without the printer indicating
  19.    the one with a printer, and also niload'ed that into that machine.

  21. The printer can be selected and printed to on the machine with no
  22. printer.  However, the stuff just sits in the spool directory, and
  23. the status file there says it's waiting for the queue on the machine
  24. with the printer to be activated.  I've rebooted both machines after
  25. the changes.  Printing works fine on the machine with the printer.

  27. A possibly related problem is that the PrintManager doesn't show the
  28. status or all the junk in the spool directory when I press Queue ...
  29.  
  30. It seems close, but I seem to be missing something.  Any clues?
