- Has anyone else had the problems I've had getting sendmail to do the
- right thing? My situation is that I have a stand-alone station which is
- part of a domain (mese.com) fed by a uucp link from my domain entry
- point (indigo.mese.com). The problems are numerous:
-
- namely: sendmail wants all uucp paths to contain a !. This includes the
- return paths (?). It took a lot of munging on the sendmail.cf file to
- get it to pass a From: xxx <name@drefla.mese.com> line. The bloomin
- mailhost.sendmail.cf file even expects all known machines with @ paths
- to exist on the ethernet! Several rule modifications later I finally
- got there but what a pain.
-
- Is there an easier way to do this (maybe with netinfo)? I can't believe
- that NeXT overlooked what may well be one of the most common
- configurations out there.
-
- What are your experiences with sendmail?
-
- Matt
