- Hi!
-
- I am about to upgrade the internal disk on my monoslab (3.0) from a
- 200meg Quantum to a larger drive. Does anyone have any experience
- with any of the following:
-
- Toshiba 438F, 877meg SCSI-2, 12ms access
- Toshiba 538F, 1gig SCSI-2, 12ms access
- Quantum 1.2gig SCSI-2 10ms access
-
- Can anyone verify that any of the above do/do not work in a slab?
-
- Also, my plan is to just take out the old drive, put in the new, and
- do the upgrade (well, the OS installation actually) from CD-ROM. Will
- the OS installation (NS3.0) format and partition the drive for me, or
- does the disk need to be formatted before I begin the installation?
-
- Any info anyone can/will provide is greatly appreciated; I have tons
- of Unix sysad experience, but am quite new to the NeXT environment
- (loving it so far!! :).
-
- Thanks,
- David
