- I picked this up and tried it out quickly, only to have it choke on the
- number of newsgroups at RPI. No big deal. I just thought "Oh well...", and
- brought up the Installer to delete the package.
-
- The package had installed some files into /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/lib,
- and /usr/local/man. When I clicked on the "delete" button, it deleted those
- *directories*, instead of the files it had installed inside of them!!
-
- In my case those directories (the /usr/local/* ones) are just links off to
- other directories, so all that really happened was that the links were
- removed. I recreated the links, and removed the files by hand.
-
- So, the question is, was this a fault of this specific package, or is it
- that those links confused the Installer.app itself, such that the installer
- figured the link was a file (instead of a directory) so it just decided to
- delete the link?
