  13. I don't necessarily see this as an "either-or" proposition.  If I
  14. were in your position, I'd be using Telebit WorldBlazers, and
  15. there'd be a clear advantage in having both.  For those cases
  16. where either would suffice (e-mail, batch file transfer), I'd
  17. prefer UUCP/TurboPEP's reliability and efficiency.  For
  18. interactive use, SLIP would be the obvious choice.

  20. You have two particular handicaps that make SLIP impractical: a 
  21. 2400 bps modem, and restricted dialout.  There's no reason why
  22. you can't or shouldn't run UUCP.  It may be worth buying a
  23. better/faster modem even with imminent ISDN availability; it
  24. takes a long time to transfer anything at 219 cps.
