  33. I encountered this promblem once. You may try this:
  34.     Edit the file Active.mbox/mbox and scan the mail-header for
  35.     non-ASCII characters (everything but [A-Za-z.()<> and so on].
  36.     REMOVE this chars.
  37. I had a ''Reply to'' field containing some german umlauts---This killd Mail.app
