  12. I'm having a problem writing to DAT tapes with my WangDAT 1300 connected to  
  13. NeXTstation running NeXTSTEP 3.0
  14.  
  15. The problem began as I was making a backup and the script I was using
  16. (Tarchive 0.71 from the sonata archives) complained of an unrecoverable medium
  17. error.  Since then I can read, and move around (rewind, bsf, fsf etc.) old  
  18. tapes using the drive, but I no longer seem to be able to write even an eof to  
  19. any tape (I've tried 4 diiferent ones with no luck), much less a tar archive.  
  20. I've rebooted many times, including a cold start of the DAT drive.  I've also  
  21. run the head cleaning tape through the drive but with no visible effect. Here's  
  22. what I get in the terminal window

  41. I can't seem to find any documentation on what this is telling me or more  
  42. importantly how to fix it. I would appreciate any help from any kind soul who  
  43. understands DAT drives or the mt driver.
