- I am using a NeXT at work connected on our LAN. All works fine apart the
- mail system. The NeXT I use (inext) can send mail anywhere without any problem.
- I cannot however receive any mail from the outside. What is very strange is
- if I am the user don, I cannot send me a message using the address don@inext
- from the NeXT (very strange isn't it ?).
-
- Suppose I am the user don on inext.isbiel.ch and I send a message to don@inext
- (to my account). Here is few lines of the /usr/spool/mqueue/syslog
-
- sendmail[285]: AA00285: from=don, size=104, class=0
- sendmail[289]: AA00285: to=don@inext, delay=00:00:02, stat=Sent
- sendmail[290]: AA00290: message-id=<9211101650.AA00285@ inext.isbiel.ch. >
- sendmail[290]: AA00290: from=<don@inext>, size=505, class=0
- sendmail[292]: AA00290: to=<don@inext>, delay=00:00:02, stat=Sent
- sendmail[294]: AA00294: message-id=<9211101650.AA00285@ inext.isbiel.ch. >
- sendmail[294]: AA00294: from=<don@inext.isbiel.ch>, size=776, class=0
- .......
- sendmail[309]: AA00309: from=<don@inext.isbiel.ch>, size=2131, class=0
- sendmail[311]: AA00309: to=<don@inext>, delay=00:00:01, stat=Sent
- sendmail[312]: AA00312: message-id=<9211101650.AA00285@ inext.isbiel.ch. >
- sendmail[312]: AA00312: from=<don@inext.isbiel.ch>, size=2402, class=0
- sendmail[312]: AA00312: SYSERR: sendall: too many hops (17 max): Bad file

- It's like a ping-pong game and I can't get the message.
- Do you have any idea, or suggestion ? It is like the NeXT receives the message
- but doesn't see that it is addressed to one of its users (an error of
- routing ?). Note that I don't use any mail server (the problem is the same),
- and I am not the client of a NetInfo server.
