- this is an (unsolicited) plug for Garth Snyder's DarkForest app,
- available on the new NeXT Edu cd-rom. if you haven't already bought
- the cd, this app alone is worth the price.
-
- Dark Forest is far and away the best tool i've seen for answering the
- perrenial question of "where did my disk space go"? it walks all the
- files under a given directory, computing their sizes and then allowing
- you to browse through them and find the pigs. you can then delete,
- compress, inspect, or 'make clean' them with a button-click. sort of
- like doing 'du' in a shell window over and over again, but about 1000
- times more efficient.
-
- joe bob sez check it out.
