- Subject: Configuring Mail.app?
- Lines: 24

- Hi,
- I'm trying to configure Mail.app to send and receive mail. I have a station
- on a local non-netinfo network and the one machine that's hooked to the outside
- world is not a NeXT. I can send and receive mail, but only with some bugs.
- The bugs are as follows. When I send mail from the NeXT, my header doubles my
- domain name (should be ludwig.pmad.uic.edu ; shows up as ludwig.pmad.uic.edu.pm
- ad.uic.edu). Also, the only way I can receive mail is if I put my entire name
- as the host name in NetManager. That is, if I put "ludwig" alone as the host
- name in NetManager, then I get host name configuration errors when I try to
- send mail to myself from another machine. If I put "ludwig.pmad.uic.edu" as
- the hostname in NetManager, then I can receive mail, but my prompt in Terminal
- shows up as "ludwig.pmad.uic.edu>". If the hostname is only "ludwig", the
- header doubling and Terminal prompt problems go away, but I can't receive mail.
-
- What do I do?
-
- Do I need to create a mailhost with NetInfoManager?
-
- Which sendmail config file should I create a link to? Right now I have a
- symbolic link from sendmail.mailhost.cf to sendmail.cf.
-
- I need help. Thanks in advance.
