- In my experience, what happens is that with 'hide on autolaunch'
- enabled, you don't get notified (unless you have mail waiting at log
- in) until you open the mailbox at least once; after that you get
- notified even if you've re-hidden your mailbox. This is on 2.1, and
- though I haven't systematically checked the pattern, it has held every
- time that I've remembered to look for it; your mileage may vary.
