  25. In my experience, what happens is that with 'hide on autolaunch'  
  26. enabled, you don't get notified (unless you have mail waiting at log  
  27. in) until you open the mailbox at least once; after that you get  
  28. notified even if you've re-hidden your mailbox.  This is on 2.1, and  
  29. though I haven't systematically checked the pattern, it has held every  
  30. time that I've remembered to look for it; your mileage may vary.
