  13. I recently placed an RTF post on the net titled "Coding Rules/Suggestions".   
  14. Since, as was pointed out to me, this kind of a post tends to be  
  15. confrontational, most respondents have emailed responses rather than posting  
  16. them.

  18. If my posts (or even my email responses) sound confrontational due to their  
  19. terseness, I apologize.  This was never my intention.
  20.  
  21. To explain more fully, my boss asked me to put together a list of NeXT coding  
  22. suggestions.  Wishing to come up with the best possible list of suggestions in  
  23. the shortest period of time, I thought to draw on the expertise of the people  
  24. on the net.  I also felt that everyone would (or could) benefit from the same,  
  25. even if their own opinion's differ.  I don't really care to try and convince  
  26. anyone that my opinion on anything is better. I only wish to offer my opinions  
  27. and explain *why* they are my opinions-- and let each other person do the same.   
  28. Each person can then pick and choose on their own.

  30. I have gotten some very good responses, some of which pointed out some  
  31. oversights in my original document and have been (or will be) incorporated in  
  32. the ongoing revision of the original document.

  34. Upon request, I will NeXTmail anyone a copy of the latest revision of my  
  35. document.  Keep in mind, however, that the document reflects my opinions only.   
  36. While I am already indebted to some of you in net-land for opening my eyes to  
  37. certain oversights, most simple differences of opinion will not be reflected in  
  38. my document (i.e., it will contain MY opinions, not YOURS).

  40. This should be a learning experience, and not confrontational.  I apologize if  
  41. it at any time sounded (or sounds) confrontational.
