- In a pigs eye. We are averaging about 1 disk in 3 as being
- readable. We're trying to read mostly NASA stuff but a lot of scientific
- data is now available on ISO 9660.
- Mind you, it took IBM 3 patches 2 OS version upgrades, and 18 months
- to get their CD rom reader to read ISO 9660 disks. (AIX)
- It's like russian roulette here. You get a new data disk, and try
- reading on the Next, because that disk can be exported easily. When that
- doesn't work, you try the RS6000, because at least it resembles unix. It
- THAT doesn't work we take it to a PC. That always works, but it's ethernet
- card and ftp program seems to max out at about 30 KB/sec
