- I recently invested in a HP DAT drive, and it works fine, except that if I
- install it anywhere other than LAST in my SCSI chain, my system wont boot.
-
- Unfortunately, I also have a HSD scanner, which since it does not have a
- SCSI regeneration, MUST be last in a the chain.
-
- The errors I get are along the lines of system panics, and today when I
- tried again I got:
-
- sd1 (2,0) scsi_timer: timeout op: 0x28 st_state: 7 scsi_status 0x0
- Target 3: BUSY; retry 1 ... 9
-
-
- I have the following SCSI devices:
- 1 - Internal HD
- 2 - External HD
- 3 - CD Rom
- 4 - HP DAT
- 5 - HSD Scanner
-
- (those are the SCSI Ids).
-
- Everything except the HSD has a second scsi-port for chaining.
-
- Should I just whinge to the supplier and tell them that the scsi interface
- on the HP drive must be wonky? Why will it work if it is the last device
- (with a terminator on the second port)?
-
- Any help appreciated!
