- The Caymen solution is interesting however; first, you must run
- Xgator in an Xwindows environment and second, one doesn't get
- any extra real-estate. At best you could probably double the pixal
- resolution but you still won't see any more screen than if you were
- viewing the original on the Mac. Another consideration is performance.
- As I recall, it is sluggish and the Caymen tech people were very honest
- in admitting that they've never seen it run on a NeXT. I talked with them
- for quite some time and realized that I would have to wait for a
- different solution mainly because I need more real-estate. Caymen was
- great and I hope someone else calls them up--they've probably upgraded
- again by now--, unfortunately, I don't have their number handy.
-
- Ushare used with Executor might be a better option when the tecnology
- becomes more developed and able to work together. I think there will
- be more resources after NeXT fixes some of the bugs in NS 3.0.
-
- If there are other alternatives or if I'm mistaken please e-mail
- me as this seems to be an ongoing difficulty that I'd like to resolve.
