- Two things to check:

- First, ensure that your host is configured in "standalong
- mode" in the SimpleNetworkStarter application so its not trying to
- find a parent netinfo domain server.

- Second, check to see if you have an /etc/resolv.conf set up;
- it may be that a program that's invoked when you log in is attempting
- a DNS query to a server on the other end of the SLIP link.
