  18. Two things to check:
  19.  
  20.     First, ensure that your host is configured in "standalong
  21. mode" in the SimpleNetworkStarter application so its not trying to
  22. find a parent netinfo domain server.
  23.  
  24.     Second, check to see if you have an /etc/resolv.conf set up;
  25. it may be that a program that's invoked when you log in is attempting
  26. a DNS query to a server on the other end of the SLIP link.
