  27. OK, I just talked to an attorney.  It's not criminally illegal.  No
  28. encryption is criminally illegal to use in the US.  Exporting it is a
  29. different matter.  Using PGP violaties the patent owned by Public Key
  30. Partners for the algorithm used by PGP.  While criminal charges will
  31. not be held against you for using PGP, RSA can file a civil suit
  32. against you for damages.
