- I have not seen the inactive Disk/Eject situation. What I have
- seen is this:

- o you have a Mac disk mounted, and you change
- directory to that disk from (say) a terminal window.

- o you drag the disk to the recycler. Nothing apparently
- happens, but if you're alert (NPI) you'll see an alert
- flash up for half a second and go away.

- o the alert you almost didn't see from the previous case
- will come up if you eject the disk from the Disk/Eject
- menu. It says you can't eject the disk because some
- application is using it.

- I can't seem to replicate your situation where the Disk/Eject
- menu is inactive.
