  14. in the FAQ-files (it's obviously too trivial), and I don't know
  15. where else to ask:

  17. Can anybody please explain what NeXTSTEP is in terms of software hierarchy.
  18. Is it an O/S, a GUI or something inbetween? I'm asking because I want
  19. to know what NS486 would mean for a PC: Certainly a new O/S. But
  20. _is_ NS486 the new O/S or is it just a GUI on the top of a new (WHICH?)
