  12.     Hi, all; forgive FAQs -- I checked as much as I could

  14.     I'm a very intermediate programmer and have two questions for all
  15. available wizards:

  17. a) What is the recognised kocher way of getting a folder choice from
  18. the user (i.e. Have the user designate a folder for a specific oper-
  19. ation) I've seen hundreds of different dialogs and methods of doing
  20. this, with varying degrees of intuitiveness. Is there an official
  21. Apple stance on this? And if there isn't, what is the cleverest and
  22. tidiest way of pulling it off (Preferably to get an FSSpec (Does that
  23. work for folders?) or other such 7.0 structure)

  25. b) What the *(^* is the structure of a 'aete' resource? I heard about
  26. these wonderful things that (Apparantly) describe Apple Events sup-
  27. ported by an application, but I can find no mention of it in my
  28. copy of IM vol VI. Reading the resource in ResEdit with straight hex
  29. is not getting me very far, because I can't distinguish the class and
  30. event ID codes from the general garbage of leading bytes, etc. HELP!

  32. c) (Small final question) -- where is the best place to get example
  33. source? I'm writing a CDEV/INIT for the first time and a friend sent
  34. me some example source he says he got off ftp.apple.com. I find that
  35. site incredibly tortuous, and was wondering if someone could give me
  36. a specific directory that contains example source.
