  13. MadaBC (strictly a working title at this point) is pleased to announce its
  14. second meeting, scheduled for the evening of Thursday, December 3. Anybody's
  15. who's interested in MacApp, Bedrock, Component Workshop, C++, Smalltalk, or any
  16. other OOP language or class library on the Mac is more than welcome to attend.
  17. (That even goes for our American neighbors to the south.) (Canadians are
  18. nothing if not big-hearted!)

  20. We had our first meeting on November 5 on very short notice, with a turnout of
  21. eleven, representing six different companies in the Vancouver area who are
  22. either doing or proposing to do OOP work on the Mac in the near future. Three
  23. of the companies in attendance are currently working on MacApp 3.0 projects,
  24. with an eye to Bedrock conversion in the near future.

  26. The upcoming meeting will be held at the Burnaby offices of Electronic Arts,
  27. Canada at #400 - 4400 Dominion Street. Electronic Arts is in the old Dominion
  28. Directory building, just across the road from the Sheraton Inn Hotel.

  30. Dominion Street is a bit tricky to find. It's just off TransCanada Highway 1, a
  31. block from the intersection of Canada Way and Willingdon. Go one block east of
  32. Willingdon on Canada Way, heading toward Vancouver, and turn north onto Sumner.
  33. Travel two blocks toward the Sheraton Inn, turn right on Dominion, and go to
  34. the end of the block. Try to avoid parking too close to the hotel pub so that
  35. your car doesn't get puked on during the meeting.

  37. We meet at 7:30 sharp. Somebody will be at the main door between 7:00 and 7:30
  38. to let you in. Please be prompt: if you're late, you won't be able to get into
  39. the building. (And you'll have to spend your evening alone in the pub.)

  41. Andrew Brownsword of Electronic Arts, Canada will be showing a demo of Parc
  42. Place's ObjectWorks package and Acius's Object Master. I'll be demoing
  43. Component Workshop.
